Reflections on Life and Society
By WelshDog (Lyndon Williams)
As I get older, I find myself reflecting more on life’s bigger questions. At 44, I’ve experienced my fair share of successes and failures. I’ve learned lessons the hard way—through trial and error, through getting it wrong before I got it right. But now, with the benefit of hindsight, I can see the bigger picture. Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect, and that’s okay.
Society tends to measure success in narrow terms—money, status, conformity—but I’ve never fit neatly into those boxes. Neurodiversity has given me a different lens to view the world, one where creativity and innovation take precedence over conventional paths. I’ve come to terms with this. My journey may not have been straightforward, but it’s mine, and I’ve made peace with that.
Family, as always, remains my constant. My wife and kids keep me grounded. They remind me that while careers and projects come and go, what truly matters are the people we share our lives with. They are my motivation, my reason for pushing forward.
