The Power of Hyperfocus

In the midst of these challenges, I discovered a gift—hyperfocus. When my brain locks onto something, it’s like stepping into another world. Hours pass in the blink of an eye, and I can accomplish things I never thought possible. It’s a double-edged sword, though. While I can lose myself in projects and ideas, it often means that everyday tasks get neglected. I’ve learned to manage it, but it’s an ongoing battle.

Blogging became one of the ways I could harness this power. Through my blog, Hyperfocus Mode, I started sharing my experiences with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism—opening a dialogue with others who faced similar challenges. Writing about my life allowed me to connect the dots between my childhood, my career choices, and the way my brain works. It was also a way to find balance, as I struggled with the constant push and pull between intense focus and scattered thoughts.

When I wasn’t writing, I poured my energy into game design and creative projects. I loved visualizing tasks as scenes from a movie—playing out steps in my mind until everything fit together. My brain worked in layers, constantly shifting between ideas. Sometimes, it felt chaotic, but in that chaos, I found creativity and innovation.
